The following series is Marnita's latest published endeavor in Sommerset Studio THE ART OF PAPER AND MIXED MEDIA magazine's 2014 Mar/Apr issue.  Entitled Expressions- Circus, they were inspired by one of many contests that is run by the magazine. 

All pieces in this series are paper colage, with certain embellishments that make each peice truely unique and truely Marnita.  Unfortunately, these peices are still on display with Somerset and not yet available for sale. Marnita's work in the field of Art Therapy has influenced this series. The idea of opposites within the personality (Carl G. Jung) can be seen with a ‘split’ in her work. The split accompanied by a silver or gold thread to symbolize the thread of life. Complements or opposites are an interesting exploration toward achieving a harmonious balance. In this series are separate pieces that are meant to go together; yet, can stand on their own. Marnita uses circular paper bases to complete the idea of ‘wholeness’, ‘inclusion’, and ‘breaking free’. 

All pieces in this series are hand-made paper colaage, with pencil, watercolor, paint, clay, iridescent pigments, gemstones, and metalic embellishments that make each peice truely unique and truely Marnita.  Each peice is framed in dark brown wood frames, 11.5" x 13.5".  Prices are listed with the items title in each picture caption, and do NOT include Tax or S&H.
